U.S. State Department Chief Blinken Set for Dialogues in Cairo over Middle Eastern Issues
Blinken's ninth trek to the area post the Hamas assault on Israel and the subsequent conflict in the Gaza Strip a decade back. The USA recently proposed a fresh conciliatory plan to the feuding factions, Israel and Hamas, not long ago. As reported in a joint declaration by the intermediaries, USA, Egypt, and Qatar, this proposal apparently fills in the "outstanding divides." Blinken himself mentioned in Israel that these ongoing discussions might be "possibly the finest, possibly the final opportunity" for a truce and the recovery of the hostages.
The USA, led by Blinken, presented this conciliatory plan to The Commission, which includes Egypt and Qatar, aiming to resolve the outstanding issues between Israel and Hamas. If successful, this diplomatic effort by Blinken could pave the way for a long-lasting truce and the safe return of the hostages.
