Two young males aged 12, charged for murdering a person in a machete assault in the UK.
Two unnamed boys brutally attacked and killed a 19-year-old named Shawn Seesahai in a park in Wolverhampton, England. Shawn, who hailed from Anguilla, had been living in the UK for about six months, according to West Midlands Police.
According to Nottingham Crown Court, Seesahai and his friend were chilling in the park when they were confronted by a group of youngsters. Shawn got into an altercation with one of the boys, resulting in him being pushed, punched, kicked, and stabbed with a machete measuring 42.5cm in length. The attackers were later identified as the two accused.
A witness described how one defendant used the machete on Seesahai's legs while the second one pounded on his head. The court also heard that Seesahai had a life-threatening injury that pierced through his body from his back, passing through his ribs, and directly into his heart.
The perpetrators were captured by the police just two days after the incident. A machete was discovered under one of their beds, blood-stained clothing was found in another one's laundry basket, and a mobile phone taken from them during arrest contained multiple images of big knives and other weapons.
"My son was a loving soul. He was so well-mannered, took care of us, was a darling to everyone, and very protective," expressed Shawn's mother.
Seesahai's father pleaded for fairness in the sentencing, saying, "Justice must be done. I don't want them to be locked up for life. I just want it to be equal."
The mother also shared their hopes of justice, "We are hoping to get the justice we've come here for."
The assailants are likely to be sentenced in July.
