In the Neuwied area, a 28-year-old driver lost their life during a head-on collision between two vehicles. The other car was being driven by a 28-year-old woman, and she was badly injured along with two young children, aged six and eight, who were in the car with her. Although initially reported to be safe, the children are now considered seriously hurt. The 25-year-old passenger of the deceased driver escaped lightly injured. Police have so far been unable to determine the precise cause of the frontal crash on the L267 between Raubach and Dierdorf-Wienau, north of Koblenz. Investigators have hired a specialist to investigate the accident further.
