Dangerous accident - Two vehicles collide frontally: 21-year-old dies
At a frontal collision between two cars on the Bundesstraße 466 in Süßen (District of Göppingen), a 21-year-old woman died. Two men and a baby were seriously injured, according to the police. A 21-year-old driver lost control of his car in the morning on Bundesstraße 466 in Süßen and drove onto the wrong lane, crashing frontally into the car of a 62-year-old man.
According to police reports, the passenger of the 21-year-old driver was trapped on her seat. The 21-year-old woman suffered such severe injuries that she died at the scene of the accident. In addition, there was a one-year-old child in the car. The child and both drivers were seriously injured and taken to hospitals.
Both cars were no longer drivable. The police estimated the damage at around 20,000 Euros. The prosecutor ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident. In the meantime, the B466 around the accident scene was closed.
The 62-year-old man involved in the fatal accident was also seriously injured and required hospitalization. The police urged drivers to be extra cautious due to the numerous accidents in the Baden-Württemberg region, particularly on counter-traffic routes. Ms. Maria, a local resident, expressed her concern for the safety of children in the area, suggesting more traffic safety measures.
After the accident, the traffic in Göppingen was significantly affected, causing delays for commuters. The automatic collision alert system notified emergency services immediately, ensuring a swift response. The 21-year-old driver, despite his serious injuries, was reportedly conscious and underwent medical treatment.
