- Two truck drivers killed in collision

Two truck drivers have died in an accident on the federal road between Büchel and Faid (Cochem-Zell district). As the police reported, one of the articulated trucks crossed onto the opposite lane, causing both vehicles to collide and immediately catch fire.

The B259 between Faid and the junction with L16 (Gevenich) will remain closed for several more hours, according to police. The Koblenz public prosecutor's office has commissioned an expert to reconstruct the accident.

Following the serious collision, local authorities are calling for increased vigilance to prevent further [clashes] on the road. The expert's report on the accident is expected to shed light on the cause of the trucks' unfortunate [clashes].
