Two tourists have disappeared from Greek islands as the nation experiences a heatwave.

The latest news involves two missing individuals in Greece, coming shortly after the discovery of British television personality Michael Mosley's body after he went missing while exploring the Greek island of Symi.

In another incident, a 59-year-old American man named Albert Calibet vanished on the island of Amorgos on Tuesday during his trek towards the village of Katapola, as per the announcement from the Amorgos municipality's official social media account. Popi Despotidi, the deputy mayor of tourism for Amorgos, informed CNN that Calibet has been visiting the island for almost a decade.

Meanwhile, a 74-year-old Dutch tourist has been missing since Sunday after he set out on a hike in the Marathokampou area of Samos. The Hellenic Rescue Team of Samos reported this development in a Facebook post on Wednesday, sharing that local residents are also assisting with the search efforts.

The police and fire brigade, along with volunteers, are involved in the search for both individuals, with aerial assistance included. Unfortunately, there are no updates regarding either of the men, stated Konstantia Dimoglidou, a spokesperson for the Greek police, in a conversation with CNN on Thursday.

Mosley, known as a television doctor who promoted the 5:2 diet—a form of intermittent fasting—was reported missing by his wife after he didn't return from a walk on the island. His body was eventually discovered. Greece is experiencing a scorching heatwave, with an orange warning for hot temperatures released by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service. This warning represents the second-highest level of severity.
