- Two to One had 200,000 movie-goers.

For the comedy "Two to One" about the final DDR summer in 1990, over 200,000 cinema-goers have been counted in just ten days. This gangster comedy by Natja Brunckhorst features actors such as Sandra Hüller, Max Riemelt, Ronald Zehrfeld, Ursula Werner, Martin Brambach, and Olli Dittrich.

The film, "filled with humor and excellent acting," is set to be the talk of the cinema summer of 2024, according to the PR agency of the production and distribution companies.

The plot is based on true German-German events and expands upon them: When the Ostmark was replaced by the D-Mark on July 1, 1990, hundreds of tons of DDR banknotes were stored in an underground vault near Halberstadt. In the film, a group of friends discovers the million-dollar treasure in the tunnel and puts the money to good use.

Brunckhorst (57), who is known for her role as the lead in Ulrich Edel's 1981 film "Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo," directs, writes, and acts in this film.

The first screening of this highly anticipated comedy attracted a substantial audience, with over 200,000 cinema-goers in the first ten days. The first act of the film, set in 1990, revolves around the discovery of a hidden treasure, the 'first' significant event in the story.
