- Two teenagers on trial for murder
Two teenagers will stand trial for murder at the Bremen Regional Court starting Thursday. Due to the defendants being minors, the trial will be held behind closed doors, according to court officials. According to the "Nordsee-Zeitung", the then 16-year-olds allegedly assaulted a waiter on his way home in Bremerhaven so severely that he died from his injuries.
According to the police, the teenagers attacked the man on the night of February 19. After the 60-year-old fell to the ground, they allegedly continued to kick and punch him. They allegedly demanded money several times. They fled with a wristwatch and two wallets containing a three-digit amount. The police arrested the two suspects that same night.
The 60-year-old was taken to a hospital with bruises and broken bones, the police reported at the time. The victim died several weeks later, according to the prosecution.
The two teenagers are accused of murdering the 60-year-old waiter after they allegedly assaulted him in Bremerhaven. Following the attack, they fled with his belongings, including a wristwatch and wallets filled with money.
