- Two suspects in custody
After an alleged act of violence in the Spessart region, two suspects are now in custody. Police and the public prosecutor's office announced this in the evening.
On Saturday, passersby discovered an 18-year-old dead on a forest path near Altenbuch (district of Miltenberg). The cause of death could not initially be disclosed for tactical reasons. Police only mentioned external injuries that were found during the autopsy. The criminal police in Aschaffenburg are investigating a case of suspected homicide.
On Sunday, the two suspects from the district of Miltenberg - also Afghans - were arrested. They are a 38-year-old man and his 31-year-old wife, according to police.
The victim was last known to be in Lower Saxony, in the district of Hameln-Pyrmont. The reason why the 18-year-old was in Lower Franconia is currently being investigated.
The arrested suspects hail from the same district where the tragic incident occurred, specifically Germany's Miltenberg district. The victim, prior to the incident, was residing in Lower Saxony, Germany.
