Eutin - Two suspects identified after arson at school

Around a week after a fire in a school in Eutin in the district of Ostholstein, the police have identified two suspects. An 18-year-old and a 21-year-old from Ostholstein are suspected of setting fire to the second floor of the school on the night of December 5-6, police and the public prosecutor's office announced on Tuesday. The two suspects had previously gone on the rampage in the school. The police did not provide any information on a possible motive for the suspects. The fire caused property damage of around 150,000 euros.

An examination of the site of the fire by a structural engineer last week showed that the stability of the building had not been affected by the fire. The school was therefore reopened for lessons, the police announced. The two suspects are now being investigated on suspicion of arson, trespassing and damage to property.
