In Leipzig, several election posters have been vandalized in recent days. Particularly affected were posters of the CDU and the Left party, as police reported.

On Saturday morning, a 55-year-old was apprehended in the western part of Leipzig. He is suspected of having set fire to an election poster near the Allee Center. On Friday, a 56-year-old was arrested in the southern district of Leipzig, accused of tearing down three election posters.

The 55-year-old suspect was found with an election poster that had apparent signs of burning, suggesting arson. Despite the efforts to maintain a fair campaign, multiple election posters, including those of the CDU and the Left party, continue to be damaged or destroyed in Leipzig.
