- Two suspects arrested in Leipzig
In Leipzig, several election posters have been vandalized in recent days. Particularly affected were posters of the CDU and the Left party, as police reported.
On Saturday morning, a 55-year-old was apprehended in the western part of Leipzig. He is suspected of having set fire to an election poster near the Allee Center. On Friday, a 56-year-old was arrested in the southern district of Leipzig, accused of tearing down three election posters.
The 55-year-old suspect was found with an election poster that had apparent signs of burning, suggesting arson. Despite the efforts to maintain a fair campaign, multiple election posters, including those of the CDU and the Left party, continue to be damaged or destroyed in Leipzig.
