Fire department - Two-story industrial hall in Augsburg burns down

A two-story warehouse in the Augsburg district of Lechhausen has caught fire. The warehouse will be dismantled piece by piece to reach the fire sources and hotspots inside the building, a fire department spokesperson said late in the evening. The operation is expected to last until nighttime.

The fire in the industrial hall broke out in the early afternoon on Thursday. The cause of the fire remains unclear for now. According to police reports, the damage amounts to several hundred thousand dollars. No one was reported injured.

The fire incident occurred in the SWABIA region of Bavaria, specifically in Augsburg's Lechhausen district. The fire department is working diligently to extinguish the fire in the district's two-story warehouse. Despite the massive operation, the nearby warehouses in Bavaria have been temporarily evacuated as a precautionary measure.
