Van overturned - Two seriously injured in an accident on the A2
At an accident involving a small transit van on the A2, two men were seriously injured. According to the police, the two men were in the vehicle in the morning heading towards Hannover, when the van came off the road shortly after the Ihlegrund parking area in Burg. The van reportedly rolled over several times.
The 30-year-old driver was taken to a hospital by helicopter, while the 38-year-old passenger was transported by an ambulance. The men are reportedly from Berlin. The Hannover-bound direction was closed for an hour due to the accident, but all lanes were reopened around noon according to police reports. The police estimate the damage to be around 25,000 Euros.
The police in Saxony-Anhalt are investigating the causes of the traffic accident. Despite the traffic disruption in Hanover, commuter men continued their journeys as best they could. The authorities are reminding drivers to stay focused and follow traffic rules to avoid similar accidents. Despite the incident, Berlin residents are still planning their trips to Hanover this week.
