Risk of flooding - Two retirement homes in Pfaffenhofen District are being cleared out.

Over 200 individuals have safely departed or left their dwellings in Pfaffenhofen's Bavarian region prior to the flood on Sunday evening. Two nursing homes have been emptied, as per district administrator Albert Gürtner (Free Voters), who shared the news in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The impending power outage affected roughly 140 residents, with them being sent to hospitals. Additionally, around 100 more people have had to evacuate from flood-endangered locales. People can find shelter in sports halls.

The water level of the Paar River steadily increased on Sunday. The maximum rise is forecasted to occur in Hohenwart by 6:00 am on Monday.

Once this peak is attained, it is predicted to flow into the communities of Reichertshofen, Baar-Ebenhausen, and Manching on the Paar River. The Paar is a tributary that leads into the Danube.

The Water Management Agency anticipates an extraordinary flood for this district. This is the same as the 1.5-times discharge of a 100-year flood. A 100-year flood denotes a calculated flood that's experienced or surpassed, on the average, once every 100 years.
