Crime - Two police officers and clubbers fall down the stairs
Two police officers have fallen down a flight of stairs and been injured by an aggressive club visitor. The officers were called to the club in Mannheim on Sunday night because a 31-year-old man had allegedly damaged a mirror, the police announced on Tuesday. The man is said to have behaved aggressively towards the officers and kicked them. He was eventually handcuffed on the floor.
According to the police, a previously uninvolved 33-year-old man then arrived. He is said to have pulled the officers away from the 31-year-old and punched them. As a result, the officers lost their footing and fell down the stairs together with the 33-year-old. The officers had to be taken to hospital. Officers who arrived were able to arrest the two men.
