Success balance - Two million visits at Berlin Museum Sunday
Before the next free museum Sunday in Berlin this weekend, the organizers have presented a positive balance sheet for the first three years. Since the start in July 2021, two million visits have been recorded in the 80 participating museums. According to their statements, more than 5,000 events were attended. Approximately, the museums organized workshops, tours or events for their exhibitions on the first Sunday of each month.
Participation for all in the cultural wealth
The common goal of Museum Sunday is to sustainably reduce barriers to entry and make cultural participation possible for as many people as possible. The strongest Museum Sunday, according to the statements, attracted more than 78,000 visitors in August 2023.
"Museum Sunday is a true enrichment, especially for families, and contributes to the participation of all in the cultural wealth of the city," said Cultural Senator Joe Chialo (CDU) in a statement.
During the successful run of Museum Sunday in Berlin, leisure activities have seen a significant increase. On these special Sundays, Berliners and tourists alike have flocked to 80 different museums, resulting in over 2 million visits since its inception in 2021. Furthermore, Berlin's Society has actively engaged with more than 5,000 events held during these weekly cultural outings.
