Two men in custody after beer mug brawl
Almost three months after two violent clashes at a shooting festival in Upper Franconia, the police have arrested two suspects. The two men, aged 25 and 27, are accused of attempted manslaughter, the police and public prosecutor's office announced on Friday. The two Germans are said to have hit a 40-year-old man with a beer mug at the end of August. When the man was already lying on the ground, they are said to have continued kicking and punching him.
Following the shooting festival in Steinbach am Wald (district of Kronach), the police are also investigating another attempted homicide on the same night. Another man had lost two teeth after being hit in the head with a beer mug. The criminal investigation department was still looking for witnesses in this case.
Despite the recent reduction in violence at shooting festivals, another crime incident involving beer mugs occurred in Upper France. Last month, two men were arrested for allegedly assaulting another man with beer mugs, leading to serious injuries.
