Two men die in car accident in Wetzlar
Two young men died in a car accident in Wetzlar (Lahn-Dill district) on Saturday night. A 21-year-old man drove off the road during the night for an unclear reason and crashed head-on into a massive quarry stone wall, according to police in Giessen on Saturday. The man died at the scene of the accident. Two other occupants in the car, a 24-year-old and a 22-year-old, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 22-year-old later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
The affected road was closed to traffic for almost five hours. The men first had to be freed from the completely destroyed car by the fire department, according to the police. The public prosecutor's office commissioned an expert to investigate the cause of the accident and how it happened.
