Two men dead: 29-year-old roommate suspected
A 29-year-old man is suspected of killing his two roommates in Hamburg. The 21 and 42-year-old men were found dead on Friday morning in their apartment in accommodation in Winterhude, the police announced on Monday.
Emergency services found the bodies in the apartment in Überseering after receiving a tip-off. It was initially suspected that the two may not have died of natural causes.
In the course of the investigation, the police reportedly focused on the roommate of the presumed deceased. The Ukrainian was arrested on Friday. At the request of the public prosecutor's office, a detention order was issued by the district court on Saturday. No further details were initially known.
The police believe the crime scene requires further investigation due to the emergencies at hand. The suspect, who is the roommate of the victims, is currently being held in custody.
