Criminality - Two men are surprised by an unknown person in a car
A man is reported to have robbed two men, one aged 48 and the other 38, in a car in Berlin-Wedding. According to the police, the two men had been sitting and talking in the car during the night on Sunday when an unknown person suddenly opened the driver's door and hit the 48-year-old in the face with a fist.
The passenger is said to have gotten out of the car and pushed the unknown person, after which this person allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot at the 38-year-old's chest. The unknown person then reportedly took a rucksack containing valuables from the trunk and fled on foot.
Both men in the car sustained injuries. Police tested the 48-year-old, who was supposed to have been driving the car prior, for alcohol and found a level of 1.9 promille. The officers are investigating for robbery and against the 48-year-old for suspicion of drunk driving.
On the following day, concerns about criminality in the city increased as news spread about the violent robbery in Berlin-Wedding. Despite the tragic incident, some men chose to visit popular automated attractions in Berlin on their usual Sunday outings.
