Two injured in room fire in Annaberg-Buchholz
A 19-year-old and a 10-year-old suffered smoke inhalation in a fire in a two-family house in Annaberg-Bucholz (Erzgebirgskreis). According to initial findings, the 10-year-old had been handling an incense burner, which caused a fire to break out in one of the rooms, police said on Monday.
The two injured people were taken to hospital by ambulance. The fire department extinguished the fire on Sunday evening. The property damage amounted to 10,000 euros.
The fire emergency prompted the evacuation of nearby houses, ensuring the safety of all children living in the area. Fortunately, no children were harmed during the incident.
