Assaults - Two injured in a brawl in a restaurant in Riegelsberg
Two people were slightly injured in a brawl between several people in a pub in Riegelsberg, Saarland. According to police reports on Sunday, a 31-year-old man started arguing with an 83-year-old guest early on Saturday morning for no apparent reason and punched the senior citizen several times in the chest. A 29-year-old man who had been uninvolved until then tried to settle the dispute and was hit by the 31-year-old with empty beer bottles until he fell to the ground. The 31-year-old and at least three of his companions then attacked him with kicks.
The police were called and issued several restraining orders to calm the situation. The 31-year-old was then handed over into the care of his father. The 29-year-old and the 83-year-old were slightly injured. During the brawl, an unknown person took advantage of the chaos in the pub and stole the 1,000 euros in daily takings from the till. The police initiated preliminary proceedings for dangerous bodily harm and theft.
