Traffic accidents - Two injured and full closure after rear-end collision on A5
Two men were injured in an accident on the Autobahn 5 near Weiterstadt (Darmstadt-Dieburg district) late Tuesday evening. According to police reports on Wednesday night, a 59-year-old driver rear-ended an articulated truck in front of him because he was briefly distracted. A 42-year-old man driving behind him recognized the unlit car on the road too late after the accident and rear-ended it. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. Their cars were totaled. As a result of the accident, a debris field was spread across all four lanes, which is why the highway in the direction of Darmstadt had to be fully closed for around an hour.
