- Two houses after fire uninhabitable
After a major fire, two buildings in Vienenburg, a town in the Goslar district, became uninhabitable. Twelve people managed to escape unharmed during the night and were accommodated elsewhere, as reported by a fire department spokesperson. The cause of the attic fire was initially unknown.
More than 150 emergency services personnel were on site. The fire was extinguished in the morning, but follow-up operations continued, according to the fire department.
The fire thoroughly damaged both buildings, leaving them unusable due to the intense heat and smoke. Despite the fire's intensity, no casualties were reported, thanks to the quick response of the emergency services.
