Hamburg - Two firefighters injured while extinguishing apartment fire

Two firefighters were injured on Saturday morning while extinguishing an apartment fire in Hamburg-Winterhude. They had developed breathing problems, said a fire department spokesman. Both had been wearing protective clothing. The two firefighters were taken to hospital. The fire first broke out on a balcony of the multi-storey building and then spread to the apartment. There were nine people in the house who were unharmed. The extinguishing work was still ongoing in the morning.
