According to police reports, the 39-year-old driver likely collided with the truck without braking on Wednesday evening. The 39-year-old driver and his 48-year-old passenger died at the scene. The truck was reportedly stationary on the A4 - whether it was due to traffic congestion is still under investigation, a police spokesperson stated. The A4 was closed between the Vieselbach and Nohra exits near Erfurt for three hours.
