Accident - Two construction workers trapped by crane and seriously injured

Two construction workers were trapped and severely injured by a suddenly collapsing crane in Leiblfing (Landkreis Straubing-Bogen). According to the police, the 30- and 38-year-olds were working on a scaffold with two other workers on the roofing. An automobile crane was used to transport the roofing sheets, which the 30-year-old was reportedly remotely operating.

Suddenly, the crane with the attached pallet fork sank and trapped the 30- and 38-year-olds, the police continued. The fire department rescued the two heavily injured individuals from the scaffold. The older man was taken to the hospital by helicopter, while the younger one was transported by an ambulance. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

The accident occurred in Leiblfing, which is located in the Landkreis Straubing-Bogen, specifically in the region of Lower Bavaria. Despite the incident being classified as an accident, the local police are conducting a thorough investigation in Lower Bavaria. The collapsed crane was involved in multiple incidents, as it was used for transporting roofing sheets at the work site.
