Consolidations of annexes - Two associations apply for cannabis clubs

One month after the official launch of cannabis cultivation associations, only a few associations have applied for approval in Saarland. Since the start of the application period on July 1, only two applications have been received, the responsible ministry for consumer protection in Saarbrücken informed the German Press Agency. The data cutoff was August 2.

First, it will be checked whether the applications are complete, the ministry spokesman said. No reliable statements can be made about the processing time. The ministry has not yet received any statements about any problems. Whether there will be any difficulties in the future remains to be seen.

The ministry is responsible for monitoring cannabis cultivation associations. "Currently, the monitoring infrastructure is being set up," the spokesman said. The effort is not yet estimable.

According to the Cannabis Act, the possession and cultivation of limited amounts of cannabis has been generally permitted for adults since April 1. The regulations on cultivation in associations have been in force since July 1. In associations, cannabis can be cultivated communally by members for personal consumption and passed on to members.

Despite the legalization of cannabis cultivation associations, a limited number of applications have been submitted in Saarland. As of now, only two cannabis cultivation association applications have been received by the responsible ministry.
