attack - Two arrests after a pizza explosion
Following an explosion at a Pizzeria in Eislingen (district of Göppingen), two men have been arrested. They are suspected of being responsible for the explosion and are currently in police custody, according to the public prosecutor's office and police.
Initial findings suggest that they first threw a window pane of the establishment. Afterwards, at least one of the suspects is believed to have thrown an explosive or incendiary device through the resulting hole into the restaurant, which then exploded in the dining area.
All windows on the ground floor and first floor, as well as the interior of the Pizzeria, were damaged. Two men (aged 53 and 56) who were still in the Pizzeria were slightly injured. Initially, it was reported that no one was injured. The police estimated the damage to be at least 50,000 euros.
The public prosecutor's office is investigating whether a request for remand in custody will be made against the two suspects. Investigations are ongoing.
The explosion at the Pizzeria is being investigated as a potential act of crime due to the suspects' involvement. If the evidence supports it, the public prosecutor's office might request remand in custody for the two suspects.
