Customs - Twinkling lights and stall magic: Christmas market opens
The historic Mainz Christmas market opened on Thursday with a sea of lights on the market square and a musical introduction. Once again this year, visitors can expect colorfully decorated stalls, culinary delights and a cultural stage program. Until December 23, they will have the opportunity to get in the mood for Christmas at a total of 90 market stalls in the city center and around the city.
"In Mainz, we will continue to offer a high-quality and diverse range of events in 2023," said Lord Mayor Nino Haase (non-party) in his speech on Liebfrauenplatz. This also included numerous cathedral concerts, the traditional fairytale performance at the Staatstheater and Christmas card printing in the Gutenberg Museum's print store.
