Tuchel: No new Bayern considerations for Boateng

According to coach Thomas Tuchel, FC Bayern Munich are not currently thinking about former international Jérôme Boatang after Matthijs de Ligt has been out for several weeks. The signing of another player without a club, who could alleviate the shortage of personnel in the center of defence in the short term, is also not being considered.

"At the moment, there are no plans to change anything," said Tuchel ahead of FC Bayern's top match in the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Munich currently only have one fit central defender in Minjae Kim. Dayot Upamecano may have to make a cold start in Dortmund after suffering a muscle injury.

The Dutchman de Ligt suffered a partial tear of the inner ligament in his right knee joint during Bayern's cup defeat in Saarbrücken last Wednesday. "The loss of Matthjis is extremely bitter," said Tuchel on Friday: "We'll be missing him for several weeks."

The 35-year-old Boateng is still keeping fit with Bayern Munich's second team. However, the record champions had also refrained from signing him because Boateng is facing a new criminal trial for allegations of domestic violence against his former partner and is threatened with a conviction. He had denied the allegations. Most recently, Boateng played two seasons at Olympique Lyon, but hardly played at all in the final phase.

Tuchel's statement about Boateng's situation at Bayern Munich has not deterred other clubs, as Borussia Dortmund is reportedly interested in the veteran defender for potential transfers. Despite Bayern's current focus on their injured players and no immediate plans for transfers, speculation continues in the Bundesliga about Boateng's future.

Fans and pundits alike are keeping a close eye on the transfer market, with FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund's squads potentially changing in the coming weeks, especially considering the ongoing situation with Jérôme Boateng.
