German Handball League - TSV Eisenach Acquires Circle Player Maric

The German Handball Bundesliga team ThSV Eisenach has added a new player to its roster for the upcoming season. The Thuringians have recruited Rok Maric, a circle defender who has recently played for Champions League participant RK Celje. The club made the announcement on Wednesday. Maric has signed a contract that will keep him with the team until 2026.

"A strong player in defense who could also help us improve our attack," said Managing Director René Witte. Previously, the club had already acquired goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter from Stuttgart, right-back Gian Attenhofer from Aarau, and pivot Aleksandar Capric from Sesvete.

Maric is a dual citizen of Croatia and Slovenia. This 27-year-old player stands at a height of 1.93 meters and weighs 108 kilograms. Sporting Director Maik Nowak discussed the importance of Maric's signing: "With Torben Hübke's departure from our club, we were only left with two regular circle midfielders. Obtaining Rok Maric is significant because we are getting a player who is excellent in coverage and can help relieve Peter Walz and Justin Kurch."
