- TSG national team players Baumann and Beier back in the team
Oliver Baumann and Maximilian Beier have returned to training with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim following their break after the home European Championship. The two national football players presented themselves in good shape and spirits at the Kraichgau team's training camp in Austria's Kitzbühel. "We're feeling good. We had more than enough time off. We're back with full energy," Baumann said in a club interview.
Even the much-courted Beier was beaming. "I'm really glad to be back. I missed all the chaos," the 21-year-old laughed. But the home European Championship will remain in their memory for a long time.
"The best part was seeing the nation bring out their flags and jerseys again," Baumann said. People on the streets welcomed them enthusiastically. It showed that people were excited about Germany, the national team, and German football again. "They were proud, and it was great to be a part of it," Baumann said.
Hoffenheim is currently still in training camp in the Austrian Alps until the weekend. On their way back to Sinsheim, the TSG will play a test match against Ipswich Town in Kufstein on Saturday (1:30 PM).
Baumann expressed his excitement about playing a test match after their training in Austria, mentioning, "We have a test match against Ipswich Town in Kufstein on Saturday." Beier, too, shared his eagerness, adding, "It'll be great to put our skills to the test in a Test match before our official season begins."
