The police and fire department have prevented a fire involving an articulated truck with a gas tank on the B96 federal highway in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district from getting any worse. According to reports, the vehicle and its trailer were parked on Tuesday morning between Freienhufen and Saalhausen at the junction to federal highway 13. The fire caused a lot of smoke, according to the police. The fire department closed the gas taps of the tank on the loading area so that the further supply was stopped. No one was injured. According to the police, there was apparently no open outbreak of fire. The access road to the A 13 was temporarily closed to secure the damaged vehicle.
