No injuries - Truck trailer catches fire on highway

Due to a truck trailer's fire on Autobahn 4 towards Dresden between the interchanges Eisenach-West and Eisenach-East, the Autobahn was briefly closed. According to the police, the driver noticed the trailer was on fire while stopped due to a tire defect on the shoulder.

Upon noticing his trailer was on fire, the driver detached it from the tractor unit to ensure his safety. The trailer burned completely. The driver remained unharmed.

The fire and police departments blocked off the accident scene for approximately an hour. In the afternoon, according to the police, only the right lane was closed to carry out salvage operations. The traffic jam has been resolved. The police estimate the damage at 60,000 Euro. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire incident occurred near the connection point of Autobahn 4 in Thuringia, specifically between Eisenach-West and Eisenach-East. The sudden closure of the freeway caused significant delays in traffic heading towards Dresden. After the salvage operations, the authorities reopened the freeway, allowing normal traffic flow once again.
