- Truck on fire on highway - lockdown at night
A truck fire led to the closure of the A215 between Bordesholm and Kiel overnight on Wednesday. A police spokesman said that a blown tire caused the trailer of the truck to catch fire near Blumenthal. The highway towards Kiel had to be closed for several hours until around 4:40 AM due to the fire-fighting and recovery operations at the scene. Traffic backed up to a length of five kilometers at times.
The fire-fighting efforts also required the diversion of other vehicles to alternate routes. Due to the truck fire, numerous other vehicles faced significant delays on their commutes.
