In the process, he failed to notice the woman, aged 58, riding her bicycle on the parallel bike lane, according to initial investigations. The vehicle struck and overran her.

Despite immediate reanimation efforts, the cyclist succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The truck driver and witnesses were taken care of by pastoral caregivers. The Traffic Commissioner has taken up investigations into the exact sequence of events.
