- Truck gets stuck on bridge and overturns
In a traffic accident on a road between Darmstadt and Weiterstadt (Darmstadt-Dieburg district), significant property damage occurred yesterday afternoon. According to police, a truck got stuck on a railway bridge and subsequently tipped over to its side. The construction truck had an extended loading platform, which was the cause of the collision.
The 59-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. Additionally, the truck and the bridge suffered property damage totaling 40,000 euros. Heavy machinery was brought to the scene to upright the truck. Furthermore, the stretch of road at the accident site was closed for four hours. The reason why the loading platform was extended during the journey will now be investigated.
