Truck crashes into railroad underpass: 60,000 euros damage
A truck driver in Rosenheim crashed into a railroad underpass that was too low for his vehicle and injured himself. In total, at least 60,000 euros worth of damage was caused, the police reported on Friday. The 53-year-old realized too late that his truck was too high for the bridge. After the accident on Thursday, the articulated truck rolled backwards against a car. The 53-year-old was taken to hospital with suspected multiple fractures. The bridge can still be used by the railroad.
This incident occurred in Rosenheim, located in upper Bavaria. To avoid such accidents in the future, traffic authorities should consider installing clearer warning signs about low railroad underpasses in high-traffic areas.
