Truck and car collide head-on: Driver dies
A car driver has died after a collision with a truck in the Upper Palatinate. The driver of the truck veered off the road to the right between Freystadt and Pyrbaum (district of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz) on Monday for an initially unclear reason. According to the police, the 60-year-old crossed into the oncoming lane while trying to steer in the opposite direction and collided head-on with a car.
The collision caused both vehicles to be thrown into the ditch. The 74-year-old car driver died at the scene of the accident. The truck driver suffered a shock. The road initially remained closed.
The Upper Palatinate region has seen an unfortunate incident with a head-on collision between a truck and a car, resulting in significant traffic disruptions. Due to the accident, there have been increased traffic jams and diversions in the area surrounding Freystadt and Pyrbaum.
