- Tropical-like sea breeze restores warmth to Bavarian region
Over the weekend, it's predicted to heat up once more in the Free State. As per a meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD), certain areas in Bavaria might hit 33 degrees celcius on Saturday.
Starting from Thursday, the Free State can anticipate a lot of sunshine, with a sprinkling of clouds now and then. Temperatures will soar to a range of 23 to 26 degrees. The weather on Friday will be quite warm and reminiscent of summer, with around 25 degrees in Hochfranken and up to 31 degrees in the eastern Alpine foothills. A high-pressure system hailing from the south is responsible for bringing back subtropical maritime air and the high temperatures to Bavaria.
Saturday might see a few isolated thunderstorms in the Alps late in the afternoon. By Sunday, showers are expected to move in from the west. Temperatures could fall to 22 to 25 degrees, with the east of Bavaria expecting 25 to 28 degrees.
The European Union's agricultural sector might need to adapt to the prolonged heatwave in Bavaria, as the high temperatures could impact crop yield. Meanwhile, the European Union's meteorological agencies are closely monitoring the weather patterns in Germany, as the high-pressure system is not limited to Bavaria, but is also affecting other regions within the European Union.
