- Trial on charges of double murder in Magdeburg

At the Regional Court of Magdeburg, a trial will begin on Tuesday against a young man accused of murdering his mother and a younger brother. Additionally, the then 18-year-old is alleged to have attempted to kill his three other siblings, the Regional Court announced.

According to the indictment, the advancing feeling of not having enough private space in the apartment shared with his siblings and his mother led to the crime. The incident occurred in March of this year. The 18-year-old is alleged to have stabbed his siblings, who were partly asleep, and the 42-year-old mother multiple times.

The initial hearing for this case will be held at the accused's defense's request at the nearby Court of First Instance, as the charged crimes might be considered minor offenses according to their jurisdiction. However, if the circumstances warrant it, the case may be transferred back to the Regional Court of Magdeburg for further proceedings.
