Munich Regional Court I - Trial for attacks at Pasing station

A trial began on Tuesday at Munich Regional Court I regarding attacks by teenagers and young men at Pasing station. According to the police, the area was considered a youth violence hotspot in Munich at the time of the attacks in late 2022 and early 2023.

The public prosecutor's office is accusing two 17-year-olds, a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old of various acts of violence and robbery. Three of them are said to have been present when a group of 15 to 20 teenagers and young men attacked two passers-by in an underpass, beating them with fists and kicks.

Although the three admitted the allegations against them through their lawyers, they also made reservations. For example, none of the defendants had seen a screwdriver, which is said to have played a role in the attack.

The trial is not the first concerning the violent attacks by groups of youths at Pasing station. In September, the district court had already sentenced a 19-year-old to a juvenile sentence of four years and eleven months for dangerous bodily harm and robbery in several cases.
