A court trial involving a teacher accused of sexually abusing a student will take place on Friday in Gera. This case of abuse against a schoolgirl is under scrutiny.

Gera Regional Court Hearing Underway - Trial begins for teacher accused of abusing student

A 62-year-old man stands accused at the Gera District Court for alleged severe sexual abuse of a nearly 50-year-old student. The hearing begins on Friday at 9:00 am, according to court records. Authorities claim that during this timeframe, the teacher repeatedly performed sexually inappropriate acts against a 13-year-old girl. Some of these acts were reportedly extreme in nature.

The events are said to have taken place from July 2022 to May 2023.

Reports indicate that the suspect was teaching various subjects in the girl's class at some point. In one of the charged incidents, the man is accused of becoming aggressive inside the school building.

As of now, the defendant is being held in pre-trial detention. This trial is being presided over by a Youth Welfare Chamber.
