Trevor Horn is looking forward to a German audience

British producer icon Trevor Horn will be playing in front of a German audience from Tuesday - and the musician is worried about his fingers. "I haven't played bass for a few weeks and I know my fingers are going to hurt," said the 74-year-old Brit in an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur ahead of his first appearance in Leipzig on Tuesday (7 November). "To be honest, I can't remember ever having played a show in Germany. I've only been on German television before. But I'm sure: it will be good."

He is "a little nervous" ahead of the upcoming performances, Horn said. As a producer, the musician has worked with world-famous music stars such as Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Seal over the past decades. He has also produced well-known hits such as "All the Things She Said" (t.A.T.u) and "Boddies" (Robbie Williams). He became famous in 1979 with the hit "Video Killed The Radio Star" as the lead singer of the band The Buggles.

In Leipzig, Stuttgart (8.11.) and Munich (20.11.), Horn will perform as bassist together with five original members of the band Dire Straits ("Sultans Of Swing"). Leaving the studio and taking to the stage is always a challenge, said Horn. "When I'm the producer, I have a lot of time and everything under control. On stage, you never know what's going to happen - but that's fun." He started earning his living as a bass player at the age of 18. "So I've been playing bass my whole life, so to speak."

Horn's new album "Echoes - Modern & Ancient" will also be released on December 1. He has had well-known songs such as "Personal Jesus" - originally by Depeche Mode - covered for it. Among others, Seal, Iggy Pop and Lady Blackbird can be heard on the album.

Trevor Horn expressed excitement about engaging with the German audience, as he had only appeared on German television before. During his performances in Leipzig, Stuttgart, and Munich, many people will enjoy the music as he performs as a bassist with the band Dire Straits' original members.
