A train traveling between Rostock and Berlin had a mishap on Wednesday night when it hit a knocked-over tree at Lalendorf. The local authorities disclosed this information on Thursday morning. Thankfully, no passengers were harmed, but the incident did cause part of the overhead line to come down and compromise the vehicle's windshield. Consequently, the train couldn't continue running.

There was one individual on the train who was sent to the hospital for non-accident-related health issues.

As per the authorities, 37 additional trains experienced delays due to the mishap. Approximately 500 cruise ship passengers were also made to wait, as their unique train was delayed. The cruise ship in Rostock wasn't able to depart until 3:30 am the next day. Efforts to repair the overhead line on the route were predicted to continue until at least Thursday afternoon. During this time, only diesel trains were allowed to access the track.
