In the Lower Saxony district of Ammerland, a tree fell onto an overhead line due to a storm, causing disruptions in rail traffic. As a result of the incident, train traffic at Augustfehn station in Apen came to a complete halt late on Tuesday evening, as reported by the fire department. A passenger train that was on the track was stopped. The approximately 120 to 130 passengers were able to leave the train. The fire department was called out to several hundred incidents in the region due to the storm. No injuries were reported by the police.

Following the storm-induced damage to the overhead line, there were significant disruptions in both transport and telecommunications services in the Ammerland district. Due to the fallen tree, the telecommunications signals were also affected, causing some communication issues along with the halt in train traffic.
