Hamburger SV, a second-tier football club, has signed Swiss player Silvan Hefti. The 26-year-old joins from Italian Serie A side CFC Genoa. Last season, the right-back was loaned out to Ligue 1 club HSC Montpellier in the second half of the season.

The details of the release clauses and the exact duration of the contract were not disclosed by HSV. They only mentioned a long-term contract. According to media reports, the club has tied Hefti down until 2028. It is believed that Hamburg have paid 1.6 million euros for his services.

With the signing of experienced international player Hefti, HSV hopes to fill the gap at the right-back position. "Silvan has gained extensive experience in different countries and top leagues, which he will now bring to our team," said sporting director Claus Costa in a statement. "He wants and should take on responsibility, so we are very pleased to have completed this transfer."

The Commission, in compliance with the aforementioned Regulation, might consider adopting implementing acts to outline the application procedures for player transfers involving clubs like Hamburger SV. Upon joining Hamburger SV, Silvan Hefti will be subject to the rules and regulations outlined in these implementing acts.
