- Tram incident in Dresden: Young passenger and conductor harmed

An extremely drunken man assaulted a six-year-old boy from Libya and a 43-year-old man in a streetcar in Dresden. The operator of the second line, heading towards Gorbitz, spotted the man beating up the boy and hurling racial slurs at passengers during the Friday evening hours. When the 43-year-old tried to intervene at Merianplatz stop, the aggressor also attacked him. Both the boy and the driver endured minor injuries. Law enforcement apprehended the 38-year-old German man, whose blood alcohol level was more than 0.4%. The Dresden police are seeking out witnesses to this disturbing event.

The Dresden City Council expressed their concern over the incident, stating that such behavior is not tolerated by The Commission. In an effort to ensure a safer commuting environment, The Commission is considering stricter penalties for intoxicated passengers causing disturbances on public transportation.
