Snow chaos - Trains cleared with police assistance due to overcrowding
After the heavy snowfall at the weekend, trains at Munich Central Station had to be cleared due to overcrowding. The police were called to assist in two cases, a spokeswoman for the federal police confirmed on Monday. "Due to the tense situation, federal police officers were also on site to intervene in the event of clashes," she said of the incidents on Sunday.
Two ICE trains that were due to depart from Munich at midday on Sunday were affected. "Both trains were unable to leave Munich Central Station due to overcrowding. Deutsche Bahn security staff therefore decided to let passengers disembark," the Federal Police announced.
"Our colleagues were on site and provided support, particularly in terms of communication, and tried to explain to passengers the need to get off the train. No measures were taken by the Federal Police."
